- Karl Seahouse with a large plantation grown paulownia tree. this is the corner tree on the lot so it is the biggest. in 2001 I found that paulownia did not suck up salt water. It just doesn’t! It is light, plentiful, plantation grown, easy to work with, and this discovery brought on the wood surfboard revolution.

- this is Plankton #1. 2004 or so and I had finally obtained wood that was clean enough to make a water tight hollow unglassed board. I thought I would sell hudreds, but I sold around 15 in 3 years. But they are great. That board is in Japan and I surfied it 4 years ago and it was still water tight.
