Tom Wegener is the resident shaper for Noosa Longboards. Tom and Margie furthered their long established ties with the iconic Noosa based store late in 2010 when Tom designed a range of long and shorter style boards exclusively for the Noosa Longboards label.
The Hastings Street store is a fine example of a retail concept store with the essential ingredient of credible soul. The recycled wood interior of Noosa Longboards is home to a valuable collection of surf memorabilia, local surf and beach history, a rare guitar collection, posters and an extensive, well stocked DVD and CD selection.
The Noosa Longboards range of clothing and accessories, for the whole family, is selected based on style and quality and includes the Noosa Longboards Tom Wegener tee shirt. A range of surfboards are for hire and the managers and staff are some of the very nicest, most talented surfers in town. The music, comfy chairs and range of boards make it a great place to hang out, meet friends and get the latest surf report.
With Noosa Longboards Tom has made available the tried and true shapes; the Model A, Joker Model, The Fish and The Bubble. He has also had a lot of room to experiment with surfboards like the new short single fin and the Tom Thumb mini-Simmons. Tom has surfed extensively with the crew; Pete, Bowie, Harrison, Maddy, Paige, Bec, Nathan and Parrish. Working closely with this team of surfers, surfing regularly and discussing the shapes has allowed for lots of feedback and progress.
